This 1938 Chevrolet truck is a rare piece of Finnish vehicle history. A fully restored museum vehicle with no shortcuts taken – finished to the highest standard.
History:
The truck apparently spent its first years in state service during the war years. Its exact background – home front, supply troops or the Käkisalmi (Priozersk) front – is being researched through the war archives, the veteran truck association and the Chevrolet factory. After the war it was put to work in post-war reconstruction.
In the 1930s and 1940s Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge were the leading truck brands in Finland, and this example represents its era at its best.
The truck has also been seen on the big screen: it was used as a film prop in the latest version of The Unknown Soldier.
